Privacy notice

What we collect, why we collect it and the choices you have.

This notice applies to SERCH website visitors, research-console users and people who contact the editorial desk. Replace the bracketed operator details before public deployment.

01

Controller and contact

The data controller is SERCH Editorial Research. Registered operator details are defined in the site configuration and must be completed before publication. Privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].

02

Information we process

We may process first name, last name, email address, phone number, consent confirmation and the page or research context attached to an editorial submission. Technical records may include IP-derived security data, time, browser information, referrer, landing page, gclid and permitted UTM parameters.

Research queries may be sent to configured search or AI providers to produce a source-led response. Do not enter private account numbers, passwords, payment details or other sensitive personal information into the research field.

03

Purposes and legal bases

Contact details are used to verify a submission, prevent abuse, reply to a case and maintain an editorial audit trail. Security logs protect the service. Analytics and advertising measurement are used only according to the visitor’s consent choices where consent is required.

04

Sharing and international transfers

Data may be processed by hosting, security, email, analytics, search and AI infrastructure providers configured by the operator. The operator must maintain an accurate processor list and suitable transfer safeguards for the jurisdictions in which the site operates.

05

Retention

Editorial enquiries are normally retained only while the case is active and for a limited audit period afterwards. Security records and consent records use separate schedules. The final operator should publish exact periods after configuring its infrastructure.

06

Your rights

Depending on location, a person may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection, and may withdraw consent at any time. A complaint may also be made to the relevant data protection authority.

07

Children and changes

SERCH is not directed to children. We may update this notice when data flows or providers change. The date and material changes should be recorded on this page.
