Name the registers, dates, spellings and identifiers checked. This turns a vague absence into a reproducible research result.
Use calibrated language
Say that SERCH could not verify a claim through the reviewed sources. Do not say that no record exists anywhere unless the source is authoritative and exhaustive for that fact.
